University of Melbourne is aimed to provide financial support to high-achieving students who undertake graduate research at the university. These 600 scholarships available are reserved for international students commencing their 2018-2019 academic year. The award is open for all master and doctoral subjects/programs offered by the university. There total value of the scholarship is $ 110,000 and 100% fee remission. The details of the scholarships include stipend and fee offset or only fee offset scholarship.
Stipend and fee offset
* 2 year living allowance for students enrolled as master research students. For doctoral candidates, the living allowance is up to 3 and a half years. The living allowance may be indexed every year which also includes limited paid parenting leave, maternity and sick
* Full fee offset for 4 years for doctoral candidates and 2 years for master’s students
* International students will receive overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) single membership because they need a student visa to study in Australia

Eligibility Criteria:
* Students must have applied for as well as fulfilled the entry requirements for both doctoral and master’s degree at the University of Melbourne, or
* Candidates must be current students in a research degree at the University of Melbourne
* Domestic students who have been granted admission to a doctoral degree or a master by research at the university will be awarded with a Research Training Program scholarship (fee offset)
* The Graduate Research scholarships at University of Melbourne that provide fee offset and stipend will be awarded to both international and domestic candidates based on academic merit. All eligible candidates are ranked and scored according to their academic achievement of their last obtained degree as well as their research potential in respective field studies. Factors that may be taken into consideration are completion of a degree at the same level of the research course that the scholarship requires, refereed publications, relevant professional experience, and composition of original music or specialist medical qualifications.
* Some faculties may allow graduate candidates with a slightly lower, TOEFL, IELTS, CAE, or Pearson Test of English score. The university TOEFL institution code is 0974 and you should use this code in order for the results to be able to be reported to them.

4 PhD Fellowship "Legal History" (KU Leuven)
Division for Roman Law and Legal History
The Department of Roman Law and Legal History is a part of the Faculty of Law of KU Leuven. The Department is focusing on the teaching of legal history, as well as on research on diverse legal historical topics. We are seeking to recruit a motivated PhD candidate in the area of European legal history. Under the guidance of the promoter, the PhD researcher will submit a doctorate within four years. She/He is a team-player who is prepared to contribute to the educational and societal mission of the Faculty of Law, and of the Department in particular.
Project
Preparing a PhD on a theme of European legal history, preferably concerning the learned law (ius commune). The PhD student and the supervisor will decide upon the specific research topic by mutual agreement. The candidate can include a brief research proposal in his letter of motivation.
Participation at legal historical conferences, writing of legal historical scientific contributions
Assistance with the preparation of aproposal for a research grant
Assistance with teaching activities (within predefined limits)
Profile
The candidate has – on October 1,2018 – at least one of the following degrees: Master of Law (preferred), Masterof Arts in History, Master of Arts in classical languages (or equivalent). Candidates without a previous degree in law have to be willing to obtain the juridical knowledge and skills which are necessary for the research and for the assistance with the teaching activities.
The candidate obtained good study results.
The candidate has a demonstrable interest in legal history.
The candidate fluently reads Latin juridical texts, or is willing to acquire a good command of the Latin language by the end of the first year of the contract, which should enable her/him to independently read Latin juridical texts as of the beginning of the second year at the latest.
The candidate has a good command of different languages, in particular a very good active and passive command of Dutch and English, and at least a good passive command of French and German (or the commitment to improve her/his skills in those languages). A good command of other languages, in particular Italian and Spanish, is an added value.
Experience with paleography is not a must, but it is an added value.
Offer
A (four-year) PhD fellowship as of October 1, 2018: one-year contract, which upon positive evaluation is extended for another year, and after a second positive evaluation for a final period of two years. The PhD candidate will work in Leuven.

The ISF is short for Institute for Sustainable Futures. It falls within University of Technology Sydney. This institute has been bringing change towards sustainable futures by piloting self-governing project-based research with international and Australian partners as early as 1997. The institute’s research as well as professional staff come from a diverse backgrounds such as architecture, engineering, economics, management, social sciences, science, political studies and international studies. Domestic students enrolling for a doctoral degree are welcomed to apply for the ISF PhD scholarship at University of Technology Sydney this year. This program is only for students who do not require a visa to study at this university. Applications are reserved for candidates to conduct research that focuses on testing and development of innovative qualitative methodologies, complementing the growth of a quantitative multi-dimensional index by the broader research team. The doctoral students form part of the DFAT Water for Women Water Research Awards study (2018-21) ‘Gender equality and women’s empowerment in WASH’. Students will be involved in a research with civil society partners that will probably take place in Cambodia and/or Nepal.
Qualified students will be receiving a living stipend of $27,082 pa for as a full time student and will not be required to pay courses fees. The scholarship is indexed annually. There is only one scholarship available.
Entrance Requirements:
Candidates must show interest in qualitative methodological development concerning inclusive and sustainable WASH service delivery, international development and gender equality. Qualified applicants will be comfortable working with cross-cultural teams in developing country environment and using various qualitative research methods. Students will have an interest in contributing as part of a broader research tea, and working across disciplines towards development of rigorous evidence as well as its practical application.
Must have a strong undergraduate or master’s degree in a relevant field like social science or equivalent
Must be able to undertake research at higher degree level
Possess high level critical thinking skills
Must have experience working across or with different disciplines and working in cross-cultural teams in developing countries as well as experience/knowledge of impact evaluation approaches and qualitative research methods, WASH or gender equality
Possess interest in progressive realization of the Human Rights to water and sanitation and advancing gender equality

The Paulsen Programme will provide up to 15 fellowships for early and mid- career historians in Russian academic and educational institutions each year from 2018/19 to 2022/23 to Russian historians whose research requires them to work in foreign archives and libraries.
The fellowships are open to all historians in Russia who are working on the period from the mid seventeenth century down to 1918. In other words, it includes both historians of Russia and of other regions of the world.
Applications are invited for fellowships for the academic year starting on 1 October 2018 and ending on 30 September 2019. The deadline for applications is 31 July 2018 . Applicants need to submit:
* a brief (not more than 1000 word) statement of their research, why it is significant and why it requires work in foreign archives and libraries
* Curriculum Vitae and list of publications
* letter in support from a senior academic historian familiar with them and their research.
Fellowships can be held for any length of time from 1 to 3 months and applicants must explain what length of fellowship they need and why. Fellows who receive awards in one year are eligible to apply in subsequent years too. The Paulsen Programme will cover all costs for visas, economy travel, accommodation and board (on conditions and at rates as per LSE and UK HMRC policy), and will also reimburse costs for medical insurance. Fellows will be based at the interdisciplinary Munich Centre for Global History (GLOBAL_HIST). During their stay, they will work on a research project in global history or its neighbouring fields. Fellows have no teaching obligation. They are expected to give a lecture about their project and actively engage with the scholarly community at the university and particularly at the centre.
The fellowships are open to researchers from all disciplines and all career stages, although preference will be given to postdoctoral applicants. Scholars who are already advanced in their academic careers and have a strong international track record are explicitly encouraged to apply. Depending on the situation of the applicant and the character of the project, the duration of the fellowship will be between one and three months. Fellowships for the summer term 2019 should be taken up between the beginning of March and the end of July 2019.
The fellowship entails economy travel to and from Munich, a daily living allowance, free housing in a furnished studio apartment in Munich as well as office space at the Munich Centre for Global History. Health insurance or other social benefits are not part of the fellowship and the responsibility of the fellow.

Postdoctoral Fellowship in Transnational (Post)socialist Media Networks
Concordia University invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow of film and media whose research focuses on the relationship - either in comparative or transnational terms - between the former Communist bloc and the Global South.
The postdoctoral fellow will be expected to enter into dialogue with the research projects already underway in the department of Cinema under the auspices of the Global Emergent Media Lab and the CURC in Transnational Media Arts and Cultures with the goal of interrogating the shifting theoretical questions about the Cold War, colonialism and their legacies and developing a shared conceptual model for describing and assessing these geopolitical flows either from a historical or contemporary perspective. We invite applications from both scholars and artists engaged in critical practice, with the demonstrated expertise in critical training relevant to the topic.
Academic qualifications required: PhD in cinema and media studies, or related fields, and experience conducting research in (post)socialist or Global South contexts. An ideal candidate will also incorporate media practice in their work (documentary, sonic ethnography, archiving, database, web projects, etc.)
The prestigious Horizon Postdoctoral Fellowships are valued at $47,500 per year plus benefits and full access to Concordia’s services.

Fellowships for the summer term 2019 should be taken up between the beginning of March and the end of July 2019.
The fellowship entails economy travel to and from Munich, a daily living allowance, free housing in a furnished studio apartment in Munich as well as office space at the Munich Centre for Global History. Health insurance or other social benefits are not part of the fellowship and the responsibility of the fellow.
Applications will include a letter of motivation, a short outline of the research to be done during the fellowship (1-2 pages) and a CV. Candidates without a doctorate should also submit a letter of reference. Please also include information as to the preferred time and duration of the fellowship. Forschungsstipendien "Aufklärungsforschung" (Halle an der Saale)
Mit seiner großen historischen Bibliothek sowie seinen Forschergruppen zu einem breiten Themenspektrum der europäischen Aufklärung bildet das IZEA die führende Stätte der Aufklärungsforschung in Deutschland, die auch für viele internationale Forscher als Anlaufstätte fungiert. Um auswärtigen Aufklärungsforschern aus dem In- und Ausland den Aufenthalt in Halle zu erleichtern, wird jeweils ein DoktorandInnenstipendium sowie ein Forschungsstipendium für ausgewiesene WissenschaftlerInnen vergeben. Die Mittel dafür hat dankenswerterweise die Dr. phil. Fritz Wiedemann-Stiftung zur Verfügung gestellt.
Kürzere Aufenthalte bei reduziertem Stipendium sind möglich; in begrenztem Umfang können Zuschüsse zu den Anreisekosten vergeben werden. Die Ergebnisse der Forschungsarbeit in Halle sollen am Ende des Aufenthalts am IZEA in einem öffentlichen Vortrag präsentiert werden.
Folgende Stipendien werden vergeben:
1 Forschungsstipendium für WissenschaftlerInnen aus dem In- und Ausland für Forschungsaufenthalte in Halle von zwei Monaten Pauschalstipendium: 3.600,- €
1 DoktorandInnenstipendium für den wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchs aus dem In- und Ausland für Forschungsaufenthalte in Halle von drei Monaten Pauschalstipendium: 3.300,- €

Фонд Горчакова объявляет конкурс на получение грантов в рамках Международного молодежного образовательного форума "Евразия", который состоится 4-10 сентября в Оренбургской области.
Целью мероприятия является создание международной коммуникационной площадки для дружественного, профессионального и гуманитарного взаимодействия молодых людей государств Евразии, объединенных идеями русского мира.
Общее количество участников форума – 800. Волонтерский корпус "Евразии" представят 180 добровольцами. В Оренбуржье съедутся лидеры молодежных НКО, молодые журналисты, преподаватели вузов, лидеры молодежных организаций политических партий, студенческого самоуправления и студенческих спортивных клубов, молодые ученые и творческая молодежь. Оператором образовательной программы станет МГИМО (У) МИД РФ. Запланированы четыре последовательно сменяющих друг друга тематических дня и один презентационный день.
В образовательной программе форума могут принять участие граждане РФ или иностранных государств, расположенных на материке Евразия, в возрасте 18-35 лет на момент регистрации. Граждане государств, расположенных на других материках, могут принять участие в статусе гостя.
Грантовый конкурс реализуется Фондом Горчакова при поддержке оргкомитета форума, Росмолодежи и Россотрудничества. Более 150 молодых людей со всего мира приедут по программе "Новое поколение", они также смогут принять активное участие в конкурсе грантов. В конкурсную комиссию войдут ведущие эксперты-международники, представители органов исполнительной власти и международных молодежных организаций.
В рамках форума запланирован "конвейер проектов" с индивидуальными грантами для физических лиц в размере 150-300 тыс. руб. Фонд Горчакова поддержит три лучших проекта иностранных участников на общую сумму 600 тыс. руб.
Конкурс пройдет в два этапа: заочный и очный (защита проектов) туры.
Прием заявок заканчивается 29 июля 2018 года.
