 2019-2020 Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars' Fellowships
The Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars is announcing the opening of its 2019-2020 Fellowship competition. The Center, located in the heart of Washington, DC, awards approximately 15-20 academic year residential fellowships to academics, practitioners, journalists, former public officials, and independent experts from any country with outstanding project proposals on global issues. The Center welcomes policy-relevant proposals which complement the Center's programming priorities. Within this framework, the Center supports projects that intersect with contemporary policy issues and provide the historical and/or cultural context for some of today's significant public policy debates.

Fellows have the opportunity, while working on their own research, to exchange ideas with scholars from all over the world and to interact with Center staff working on similar issues.

Applicants must hold a doctorate or have equivalent professional experience.

Fellows are provided stipends, round trip travel, private windowed offices, Library of Congress access, and part-time research assistants.

Arts announces its program for senior fellowships.
Fellowships are for full-time research, and scholars
are expected to reside in Washington and to
participate in the activities of the Center throughout
the fellowship period. Lectures, colloquia, and
informal discussions complement the fellowship
program. Each senior fellow is provided with a study.
In addition, senior fellows who relocate to
Washington are provided with housing in apartments
near the Gallery, subject to availability. Senior fellows
have access to the notable resources represented by
the art collections, the library, and the image
collections of the National Gallery of Art, as well as to
the Library of Congress and other specialized

 A new online, open access, peer-reviewed journal focusing on philosophy from the 16th century through mid-18th century has been created. Called the  Journal of Modern Philosophy , its co-editors are  Aaron Garrett (Boston University) and  Antonia LoLordo  (University of Virginia).
The  editors and the editorial board  of the journal write:
The  Journal of Modern Philosophy  is now soliciting submissions in the history of philosophy from the 16 th  century to the 18 th  century up to, but not including, Kant. It is the goal of this journal to meet a clear need for a specialist journal in the history of modern philosophy. We welcome all papers that fall within the general category of modern philosophy, but we are especially eager to receive papers on under-represented figures and topics.
We plan to expand to Kant and the nineteenth century in the future, and will at present consider submissions on underrepresented topics and authors in the nineteenth century.
We also welcome reviewers who wish to be enrolled with the journal. 
JMPhil  is Open Access, authors will maintain their copyright, and submissions will be published on a rolling basis. All submissions will be double anonymously refereed, with a target turnaround time of ten weeks.
The journal is sponsored by the  Center for the Humanities  and the  Department of Philosophy  at Boston University, and the  Department of Philosophy  at the University of Virginia.  https://jmphil.org/about/

An Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences Journal  is now accepting submissions for future issues. Articles on any interdisciplinary topic are welcome, although we especially seek submissions that cross or connect unusual disciplinary boundaries such as humanities and the laboratory sciences.  Polymath  also welcomes articles by undergraduate or graduate students working on interdisciplinary projects.
Polymath  is a peer-reviewed journal published by the College of Arts and Sciences at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
