ХLII Международные чтения "Достоевский и мировая культура" пройдут в Музее Достоевского в Санкт-Петербурге 9–12 ноября 2017 года (Кузнечный пер., 5/2). Чтения собирают литературоведов, научных сотрудников музеев из многих городов России и зарубежья. Достоевские чтения в доме, где жил и умер писатель считаются одним из самых представительных научных собраний, посвященных классику мировой литературы.

КОНТУРЫ БУДУЩЕГО: ТЕХНОЛОГИИ И ИННОВАЦИИ
В КУЛЬТУРНОМ КОНТЕКСТЕ

В отличие от традиционного и индустриального обществ, где будущее было предрешено, хотя и в разных метафорах или категориях, для постиндустриального общества оно превращается в пространство риска и нелинейного конструирования ожиданий. Будущее существует сегодня как дискурс и риторика, как соперничество образов и программ, формирующих потенциал реальных инноваций. Сценарии будущего продуктивны и обладают преобразующей силой – они направляют исследовательские практики, политические и экономические решения, формируют акторов и точки роста.
В центре внимании конференции – гуманитарная сторона технологического развития и процесс производства знания о технологиях будущего. Участникам предлагается обратить внимание на концепцию социотехнического воображаемого (Sheila Jasanoff) как совокупности культурных практик, в которых формируются образы желаемого будущего. В них вовлечены не только традиционные эксперты (ученые, инженеры, политики), но и писатели, журналисты, художники. Успех и конкретная конфигурация становящихся научно-технических проектов зависит от осведомленности общества, проработанности возможных социальных, правовых и культурных аспектов и от эстетического осмысления.
Участникам конференции предлагается активно привлекать проблематику STS (Science and Technology Studies) с их анализом политических, культурных, социальных, этических аспектов технологического развития и производства научного знания. Современный подход к исследованиям науки и технологий воплощен в методологических программах социального конструирования технологий (SCOT), акторно-сетевой теории (ANT), концепции доместикации технологий. Для STS важно не только, как наука и техника влияют на общество, но также как люди (в т.ч. простые пользователи) оказывают влияние на технологии.
Для участия приглашаются философы, социологи, культурологи, историки, филологи и все, кто касается в своих исследованиях гуманитарных аспектов технологического прогресса. Планируется молодежная секция с участием студентов, магистрантов, аспирантов.
Примерный круг вопросов, предлагаемых для обсуждения:
* философия науки и техники: будущее как эпистемологическая проблема; философия технологических утопий;
* методология исследования будущего: STS; социология ожиданий, социотехническое воображаемое; формы «работы с будущим» в рамках стратегического планирования;
* лексикон наук и дискурс будущего; проблемы перевода; история понятий;
* социология инноваций: политики производства научного знания и технологического обновления; социальные и психологические аспекты развития информационно-коммуникационных технологий;
* этические аспекты новых технологий: биоэтика, роботоэтика, информационная этика etc.
* эстетическое измерение технологии: Science art, новые медиа; репрезентации науки и техники в литературе и искусстве; визуальные образы будущего;
* культурная история техники: технологии и национальная идентичность; технологии как объект культурного трансфера; конфигурации технокультуры; социокультурные аспекты взаимодействия пользователей с технологиями; доместикация технологий;

The British Academy has launched a new, competitive research funding call, the Cities & Infrastructure Programme, as part of the Global Challenges Research Fund.
The Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) is a £1.5 billion fund to support cutting-edge research that addresses the challenges faced by developing countries through:
* challenge-led disciplinary and interdisciplinary research,
* strengthening capacity for research and innovation within both the UK and developing countries,
* providing an agile response to emergencies where there is an urgent research need.
The call invites proposals from UK-based researchers across all academic disciplines within the social sciences, the humanities, engineering, medical and natural sciences, to develop and lead interdisciplinary, problem-focused research projects that address the challenge of creating and maintaining sustainable and resilient cities in developing countries, recognising the need to interweave mitigation and adaptation. The Cities & Infrastructure Programme will fund research projects geared towards producing the evidence that will inform policies and interventions aimed at improving people's lives in fragile or conflict-affected states or in developing countries.

The Department of Russian Studies at Macalester College announces an opening for a tenure-track position in Russian Studies, to begin in Fall 2018, at the rank of Assistant Professor (in an exceptional case, a more advanced appointment may be considered). Applicants should have a PhD at the time of appointment in the field of Russian history, culture, or related subjects and possess native or near-native proficiency in Russian and English. The successful candidate, whose tenure home would be in Russian Studies, would teach Russian language as well as courses that would cover Russia and the neighboring region historically. Scholarly promise, college teaching experience, an interdisciplinary approach to the teaching of Russian Studies, strong interest in teaching language, and knowledge of current pedagogical methodologies are highly desirable.
The position entails teaching five courses per year, including two Russian language courses per year and three others, at least two of which can be cross-listed with the History department. We are looking for dynamic, broadly trained, theoretically informed scholar-teachers with training in historical inquiry, who are committed to the study of Russian history and culture as an integral part of the undergraduate liberal arts curriculum. The successful candidate will join Macalester’s Russian Studies faculty in active program building.

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
* Overseeing the IOE’s Academic Council
* Supervising PhD applicants’ testing, selection, and admissions
* Delivering regular doctoral seminars for program enrollees
* Counseling and providing advice to PhD candidates and their academic supervisors
* Planning further developments to the IOE’s Doctoral Program and putting them into practice
* Teaching one course per year for doctoral students
* Nurturing the faculty’s professional development in research, instruction and consultation services across all areas of focus
* Developing support mechanisms for the faculty in both sponsored and non-sponsored research endeavors
* Providing leadership, direction, and oversight of processes at the Institute with regard to recruitment, appointment, retention, assessments for promotion and tenure, issues related to sabbatical and professional development leave, awards and recognition, etc.
* Taking part in strategic, organizational and operational decision-making at an institute-wide level.
Qualifications
* A PhD in education, public policy, psychology, economics, social sciences or a related field
* Russian language proficiency is a plus, but not mandatory
* Senior academic and administrative leadership experience
* A distinguished record of scholarly achievement, including research funding, refereed publications, professional presentations at both national and global level, etc.
* Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven record of prolific teamwork and collaboration with faculty, administrators, staff and students
* Clear demonstration of mentoring, leadership and organizational skills.

successful candidate will be to teach a 3.0 credit
course load in core courses in the field of Russian
and Soviet History and in other fields of European

Ghent University announces vacancies for full-time professorial posts (“ZAP” level) starting taking effect on 1 October 2018 at the earliest. The positions, funded by the Special Research Fund (BOF) are open to candidates who do not yet hold a full-time professorial post (ZAP post) at Ghent University and will be taken up in the rank of full professor (hoogleraar) or senior full professor (gewoon hoogleraar).
The positions may be granted in any field of study.
Assignment
These BOF positions are granted for renewable 5-year periods until retirement. The positions focus primarily on research, with a teaching load limited to no more than 8 credits per semester on average over a period of 3 years.
Profile
Admission requirements
* Candidates must have been selected for funding of an ERC Advanced Grant by the European Research Council as a result of the call ERC-2017-AdG (launched on the ERC website on 16 May 2017 and with deadline on 31 August 2017) with Ghent University acting as a host institution within the first year of the ERC Advanced Grant;
* You do not yet hold a full-time professorial post (ZAP position) at Ghent University;
* You are a thesis-based doctorate holder. Upon evaluation of a foreign (non-EU) diploma, a certificate of equivalence may still have to be requested at NARIC;
* You have at least two years of postdoctoral experience at the start of the ZAP position.
Experience
* You have already conducted excellent scientific research in a field of study, reflected by, among other things, a strong record of international publications (journals and/or books) with peer review and an obvious international profile;
* You have extensive experience in supervising research and coaching Ph.D. students;
* You are didactically skilled to teach university students to develop academic competences;
* Recommended are:
* Positively evaluated experience in provided or organised academic lecturing;
* International mobility, among other things thanks to research stays at institutions external to the one where you acquired your highest academic degree;
* Professionalisation of education.
Appointment information
Depending on the specific profile of the selected candidate, the degree of full professor or senior full professor is awarded. This will be decided by the University Board as proposed by the Faculty Board.
